Mariachi Real De Mexico de Ramon Ponce, founded and directed by acclaimed musician Ramon Ponce, Mariachi Real De Mexico has become one of the most respected and dynamic mariachi ensembles in the United States.

Based in New York City, the group is celebrated for its artistry, authenticity, and dedication to preserving the rich cultural traditions of Mexico while presenting them on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Since its inception, Mariachi Real De Mexico has captivated audiences with its powerful voices, virtuosic instrumentation, and vibrant repertoire that spans the classic sones, rancheras, boleros, and huapangos of the mariachi tradition.

Under Ponce’s leadership, the ensemble has performed in concert halls, cultural institutions, and festivals across the nation, often collaborating with internationally recognized artists from diverse musical genres, including Tito Puente in the Grammy winning album ‘Masterpiece” Highlights of their distinguished career include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Smithsonian Institution, as well as performances for cultural festivals and high-profile events that celebrate Mexican heritage.

The group is frequently invited to accompany opera singers, ballet folklórico companies, and contemporary musicians, showcasing mariachi’s versatility and universal appeal. Beyond performance, Mariachi Real De Mexico is deeply committed to education and community engagement. In 2002 they established the Mariachi Academy of New York. Through workshops, masterclasses, and outreach programs, the ensemble inspires new generations to embrace and carry forward the mariachi tradition.
