2025 | NR | 101 min | Documentary, History, Biography | DCP

Presented in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival

“Undeterred by armed soldiers, smooth-talking politicians, and riot police, journalist Amy Goodman has reported some of the most consequential stories of our time. Steal This Story, Please! is a gripping portrait of the trailblazer whose unwavering commitment to truth-telling spans three decades of turbulent history. From the frontlines of global conflicts to the organized chaos of her daily news show Democracy Now!, Goodman broadcasts stories and voices routinely silenced by commercial media.

Oscar-nominated filmmakers Carl Deal and Tia Lessin (Trouble the Water, The Janes) take us behind the scenes with the warm, wisecracking granddaughter of an Orthodox rabbi — raised in a tradition of asking hard questions – as she navigates a news landscape reshaped by technology, corporate consolidation, and political assaults on truth itself. Urgent, provocative and unexpectedly funny, Steal This Story, Please! is both a call to action and a celebration of resistance, posing the question: what happens to democracy when the press surrenders to power?”

Featuring a Talk Back with Amy Goodman and Producer Karen Ranucci

Director: Carl Deal, Tia Lessen

Producers: Carl Deal, Tia Lessen, Karen Ranucci, Diana Cohn, Caren Spruch

Shaman The Santana Experience

The Shaman Tribute Band is a 10 member band that pays tribute to one of the greatest classic rock bands in musical history, Santana.  With the combination of Latin Rhythms, Blues and Rock-n-Roll, Santana created some of the most iconic and memorable songs of the last 60 years. Shaman has modeled its format exactly after Santana with all of Santana's iconic Percussion, including Timbales, Congas, Bongos, the Paul Reed Smith guitar sound of Carlos Santana and the rich texture of the Hammond B-3 Organ. Shaman features music from the first three albums but also includes hits from the later albums such as She’s Not There, Hold On, Europa, Maria Maria, and Smooth.

All of Shaman's members are long-time seasoned Rock-n-Roll and Latin Rock musicians with deep, rich performance experience.  The two founders, Frank Conicella, and Chuck Schaffer founded a band in the early 70's called Prometheus.  Prometheus toured the country with a theatrical rock show and played at over 111 colleges.
