The Barrymore’s education programs use storytelling, media creation, and creative collaboration to help learners of all ages build skills, explore new ideas, and connect with the world around them.
Whether you're creating your first short film, developing professional media skills, or exploring cinema as a lifelong learner, Barrymore Film Center offers opportunities to learn, create, and grow.
SUMMER FILM AND MEDIA WORKSHOPS
FOR GRADES 7-9 AND 10-12
ENROLLMENT NOW OPEN!
This summer, explore filmmaking, digital storytelling, content creation, and emerging media technologies through two immersive week-long camps. Sessions are divided by grade level: Entering grades 7-9 and 10-12.
(Each week is a standalone experience. Students may register for either week or both.)
What does a day at the Barrymore Film & Media Summer Workshops look like?
9:00 am: Arrival & Creative Warm-Up
Get settled, connect with fellow students, and jump into the day’s activities.
9:30 am: Skill Spotlight
Explore a key filmmaking discipline through interactive demonstrations and activities.
11:00 am: Break
11:15 am –12:30 pm: Production Workshop
Put new skills into practice through hands-on challenges and collaborative exercises.
12:30–1:15 pm: Lunch
Students bring their own lunch.
1:15–2:30 pm: Project Studio
Work individually or in teams to bring creative ideas to life.
Please note: Activities vary by day and may include special guests, screenings, behind-the-scenes experiences, and other unique opportunities.

AFTER-SCHOOL CREATIVE MEDIA LAB
Hands-on programs for students in grades 3–12 exploring filmmaking, acting, editing, podcasting, screenwriting, animation, and digital storytelling.
ADULT FILM & MEDIA LEARNING
Engaging courses in film appreciation, cinema history, media literacy, critical analysis, and contemporary media topics.
FILM & MEDIA WORKFORCE ACADEMY
Career-focused training and professional development opportunities designed to prepare participants for careers in film, television, and digital media.
