Broadcast News - Movie Trailer
1987 | R | 133 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance | DCP
A high-strung news producer finds herself in a love triangle between a talented but self-doubting reporter and a charming new anchor, who embodies the growing trivialization of news that she is determined to fight against.
Featuring an Introduction by Barrymore Film Center’s Director of Film Programming David Schwartz
“James Brooks is a legendary director, writer, and producer in film and television who co-created The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi, and The Simpsons, and wrote and directed films including Terms of Endearment and his latest, Ella McCay,” says curator David Schwartz. “His best film, Broadcast News, is at once a satire of the TV news business and a romantic comedy with Holly Hunter in a career-best performance as an ambitious producer torn romantically between a good-looking if somewhat dimwitted anchor (William Hurt), and a neurotic veteran reporter (Albert Brooks).”
